Australian resorts provide high quality snow reports and forecasts. Let's face it, in terms of snow, it's not Canada or Austria, but the infrastructure is world class. For the die hard crew who (wo)man the mountains year after year, Australian mountains such as Mt Hotham can provide some truly awesome days. If you're not one of those who does the season there, you'll have to be lucky to score in Australia. So, make sure you are onto the reports before you go, they'll save you some heartache and possibly guide you into going on just the right day. In recent years there's been some great weeks and even months however the record books will show a pretty thin cover of snow (which turns to ice). New Zealand on the other hand benefits from colder temperatures and surprisingly the resort infrstructure is a little less developed. That said, the reports are top-notch and used wisely they will head you in the direction of the sick POW days that are a common event in New Zealand.
