Cyclones are a clear favourite among Queensland surfers. The most
likely times to score a cyclone swell are Jan - April but they have
been known to occur during other months. If you're lucky enough to be
in Qld during a cyclone swell there's more right hand points than
anywhere else.
This
area is however heavily populated. Most Qld surfers seem to thrive on
the competition. Noosa has a set up of three points as well as a swell
magnet in A-Bay.
The
gold coast has too many points to name as well as its legendary swell
magnet at Duranbah. Stadbroke Island - especially early can provide
crowd relief.
