Surf spots Yorkes / South Australia: Surf Atlas - Onlineboarding.com
By far the the most consistent area for most South Australian metro
surfers is the Victor Harbor region, about 1 hour south of Adelaide.
It receives consistent swell and often produces quality waves but it's
a fickle spot.
Most travellers around Adelaide head for Yorkes. It too is fickle
thanks to Kangaroo Island blocking most of the swell. However at
Yorkes you'll find a number of top quality waves. Chinamans is a
powerful left about 5km out of Stenhouse Bay. Salmon Hole is a fun
right hand point that needs a large swell. Becasue of its 'foot' shape
it's offshore at Yorkes in nearly every wind direction.
There
are a variety of spots on the SE coast near Robe. They receive a lot
of swell and onshore winds.
